Meet the Functional Experts

I have worked in the retail facing sector in FMCG for nearly 30 years, developing products within dairy, chilled desserts, soft drinks, canned goods and chilled ready meals, supporting retailers' own brand such as M&S, J Sainsburys etc. and also working on brands such as the Napolina and Princes brand.

As Head of Innovation & NPD, I am passionate about developing products that enable our customers to succeed and create market stand-out.

A self-confessed foodie, in my spare time I am the food and drink editor for The Cheshire Magazine.

I joined the business in 2020 as NPD  Manager with 20 years’ experience in the food industry. My background includes working within the chilled retailer pizza sector for 5 years as well as ready meals and desserts.

I work with a great team of foodies, and enjoy all aspects of my role. The NPD function supports our customers by delivering new product concepts to drive the market.

As a business we are continuously exploring new ways to share our innovation and ideas with our customers to help them to expand their businesses. Every day is different and this makes my role very exciting!

I started my career in the food industry as a Trainee Dairy Technician within the yogurt and desserts sector. Shortly after completing a degree in Dairy Technology I was fortunate to join the Leprino team at Llangefni.

I have a very varied role split between the factory, supporting with trials for sample requests based on new or improved recipes and the launch of new customer orders.

Another aspect of the role involves researching different global markets, new product releases and identifying new food trends. The role allows me to be very creative in applying ideas generated within the team to design innovative pizza concepts.

Visits to customer sites gives us the opportunity to showcase our concepts and demonstrate the versatility of our products which could then be emulated in stores.

I joined the company back in 2012 as a site level QA Manager, progressing up through to Technical Manager before becoming Senior QA Manager. .

I enjoy having a customer focused position and being able to drive quality improvements and a food safety culture across the business.

I joined the business in 2022 as QA Supplier Manager, bringing 25 years’ experience in the food industry. My background ranges from cooked meats, bakery, confectionery and ready meals, in senior technical roles.

My role gives me a wonderful opportunity to work closely with our approved suppliers. Ingredients are key to any high quality product and working closely with our suppliers means the ingredients we use are the best around.

I joined the business in July 2023 bringing 7 year’s specification experience and 10 years food industry experience.

My role gives me the chance to work with the 3 sites and help them provide customers with requested essential documentation.

I joined the company in 2022 as the Sustainability Manager from the agriculture industry bringing with me over a decade of practical agriculture, supply chain and processing as well as lean operations on farm experience.

Having previously worked in knowledge exchange and innovation I'm focused on building a sustainable strategy for Leprino and our farmer supply base to demonstrate the role dairy production plays in a sustainable society.

The business produces high quality dairy products from increasingly sustainable, milk. My goal is to increase that sustainability, sharing and supporting growing best practice in renewables, land use, and sequestration of carbon, high welfare and productivity.

Leprino is committed to supporting the entire supply chain, from farm to fork to deliver sustainable, delicious dairy products to our consumers. Allowing customers to continue to consume the foods they love safe in the knowledge we are supporting a sustainable society.

I joined Leprino in April 2024, bringing industry experience in agricultural sustainability and learnings from my degree in Agriculture.

My role at Leprino involves working with farmers on projects which improve the sustainability of their farming business and ultimately, the environmental impact of the milk which makes its way into our factories for mozzarella.

I have a close personal connection to dairy farming making the betterment of both the dairy industry and the dairy farming community very important to me. I also care deeply about this planet. My ambition is to execute projects which benefit the industry and farmers, leading to mozzarella production that is sustainable for all. 

I love the diversity this role brings. Whether its the location or different farm types, there is a great variety of both challenges and opportunity presented on farms.
