LOOKING FOR:

Leprino is seeking to appoint a permanent Dairy Process Operative (Flexible).

The Dairy Process Operative (Flexible) is responsible for the safe and efficient production, packing, and labelling of cheese and related products. The role involves strict adherence to standard operating procedures (PSOPs), maintaining high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and food quality. You’ll monitor product performance, carry out quality tests, and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. 

Strong communication is key, as you’ll work closely with team leaders, QA staff, and maintenance personnel to resolve issues and support continuous improvement. The position also includes environmental responsibilities, equipment cleaning, and cross-training across production areas. A proactive attitude towards food safety, quality culture, and teamwork is essential

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • Physically capable of regularly handling boxes weighing up to 10kg and lifting weights to 25kg when required.
  • Agile enough to access all areas of plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrates competent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of standards, equipment, and/or processes within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of safe working practices and what constitutes a safe workplace .
  • Good communication skills .
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Shows initiative and applies problem-solving and planning skills .
  • Capable of working unsupervised.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team .
  • Meticulous attention to detail .
  • Committed to quality.
  • Self-motivated and teamwork-oriented.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Demonstrates trust and respect for others.
  • Willing and able to work rotating 12-hour continental shifts, including weekends and night shifts (Cheese and Packing).
  • Willing and able to work rotating early and late shifts, including weekends (String / Shred)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • English and Maths GCSE/O Level (or equivalent) with a minimum Grade C.
  • Relevant experience in food or dairy manufacturing and production.
