Leprino is looking for two Operations Support roles based at our Magheralin facility.

The Operations Support role will provide support for the Production, Processing and Whey teams by ensuring that operational data is effectively collated, reviewed, sense checked and reported. This will include Milk Intake, Ingredient Usage and Stock Reconciliations, as well as Production and Yield & Efficiency data. 

The role holder will be expected to understand both the process and product specifications. In addition to collating and reporting information, this role will be expected to sense check and validate the data being collected, to directly investigate anomalies and inaccuracies with the Team Leaders and Co-ordinators to ensure accuracy, to identify and flag variances, exceptions and trends. Ensuring that reports and data analysis findings are sent out to the relevant stakeholders promptly to allow the data to be used effectively to support focus on key priorities and opportunities, and ensure timely corrective actions.

This role will also work with the Operations and Finance Teams to improve the effectiveness of data collection,n analysis and reporting, actively using tools like KPI database/MES enhance the quality and timeliness of variance, exception and trend information to the Operational Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Relationship Development  
  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with Operations, Quality and Stores functions by supplying information and analysis to key stakeholders and input to problem-solving exercises.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Site Management Team, establishing strong communication links and the accurate and timely provision of information, including trends and variances with insights to support the continuous improvement and process optimisation.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the data is accurately collated and reviewed, errors are corrected, variances are investigated, and detailed reports are provided to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Develop an open, approachable and professional relationship with employees. Have a significant on-floor presence in the production and processing areas and take an active interest in the department’s performance.
  • Develop a strong collaborative working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders in relation to ingredient supplies.
People/Team
  • Through a proactive approach, develop a solid understanding of the Business, including processes and products, to understand the numbers being collated and reported and to be able to actively and professionally provide both challenge and support to the Team to improve accuracy and timeliness of data reporting.
  • Engage at all levels within the business, and work collaboratively to investigate variances to support effective use of production information to drive improvement on a timely basis 
Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement
  • Own the integrity and accuracy of data reporting within the operational departments.
  • Review data generated by onsite reports, i.e. Yield and Efficiency Report, and provide an accurate and real-time synopsis of the data, highlighting key points of note to allow managers to make informed decisions relating to the production and processing parameters.
  • Provide analysis, trend information and insights for the Milk, Production, Processing Whey and Stores Managers so they can more effectively focus on the key issues and effectively drive corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage supplies of ingredients from key suppliers to ensure that the plant operational efficiencies are maintained or enhanced whilst escalating issues with oversupply / high stock levels, along with the relevant recovery plan.
  • Manage transactions to suppliers and customers promptly, presenting accurate data in invoices and purchase orders.
  • Own the models and spreadsheets used and actively work with all stakeholders to continuously improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of data capture and analysis to drive timely corrective action and  operational effectiveness
  • Promote the CI culture, actively participate in CI events to support business-led initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development and promotion of an open culture of pro-activity where people take pride and responsibility in what they do and feel a sense of involvement and self-worth.
  • Actively support increased understanding of key operational data (Yield and Efficiency, Max Capacity First Pass Good) within the wider operations and site Teams
Responsible Care
  • Promote and support the development of an effective and proactive safety culture on site, with the whole team working to identify and eliminate hazards.
  • Ensure that each improvement is appropriately assessed to consider Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) factors by involving the necessary resources to complete risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role.

ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE CRITERIA
CRITERIA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
Physical No health issues are likely to preclude employment in the dairy industry  
Qualifications and Training A minimum if 4 GCSEs or equivalent
(Grade C or above), including Mathematics and English.
A-Level Science minimum Grade C
Understanding of hygienic food production.
Relevant Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant work experience within production.
  • Experience in handling ingredients in a fast-paced FCMG.
Experience gained within a dairy company.
Specialist Knowledge
  • Good experience of working to system standards for compliance.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of customer audits.

Experience in handling the flow of ingredients into a production environment.

Experience in data analysis.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to adopt a variety of approaches dependent upon the situation and context.
  • Proficient in MS Office, databases and online resources.
