POST LOCATION: Magheralin, Northern Ireland
LOOKING FOR:

Leprino is thrilled to offer an excellent opportunity for a Relief Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at our Magheralin site.
In this vital role, you will help us uphold the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance by:
Monitoring and verifying adherence to food safety and quality standards throughout production.
Investigating issues and performing tests on products, samples, and production areas.
Conducting audits and reporting findings, driving corrective and preventative actions.

As a relief role, flexibility is key. You’ll work across multiple departments, adapt to changing priorities, and receive full training in essential operational areas. This is a covering role and does not operate on a fixed schedule.  This role will be required to provide cover across various shifts and responsibilities, sometimes at short notice. A high degree of flexibility and adaptability is essential to meet operational requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Ensuring Safety: Follow standard operating procedures, maintain a safe working environment, and report hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Driving Quality: Monitor GMP, food safety, and cleaning practices; conduct audits; and verify compliance with critical control points. 
  • Testing & Analysis: Perform chemical and microbiological tests on products and samples, record results, and investigate any out-of-specification findings.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Share key updates during shift handovers, attend cross-departmental meetings, and promote a strong food safety culture.
  • Product Release & Documentation: Positively release products, generate Certificates of Analysis, and ensure accurate record-keeping for all QA activities. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Support projects, implement corrective actions, and contribute to an audit-ready culture across the site. 
  • Flexibility: Work across departments, adapt to changing priorities, and provide cover in different QA areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • HND or equivalent in Food Science or related discipline (or relevant experience). 
  • GCSE/O-Level English & Maths (Grade C or above). 
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word & Excel). 
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, lab practices, and Health & Safety. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow processes. 
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative. 
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Flexible and adaptable; willing to work a combination of days and nights.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Formal qualification or accredited training in auditing. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical, quality, or production role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in food or dairy manufacturing and production.
