Yesterday we hosted an event at one of our Shropshire farms giving an update on the Dairy Roadmap in association with Dairy UK, AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) and NFU (National Farmer's Union).
The day opened with our Chief Executive, Paul Vernon outlining what we had in store, followed by our Sustainability Manager, Ben Williams giving an introduction to the Leprino Foods sustainability journey, we then welcomed Verity Richards (NFU) to the stage who discussed how climate friendly farming can help drive business resilience and finally, Nic Parsons (AHDB) and Emma Gregson (Dairy UK) who spoke about how collaboration and data are key and gave a sneak peek into the Dairy Roadmap website.
Our guests were treated to a pizza lunch and for the afternoon session, were split into four groups to take part in information break out zones covering areas such as: Wynnstay Group PLC Forage4Profit, Map of Ag Data Clarity Beyond the Farm Gate, Sylgen Animal Health Ltd Slurry for Soil and Fedden USP The Principles of Lean. We closed the day with a wash up of everything we’d covered and the message – we know how to support more sustainable dairy production, we know that it works, what we need to do now is enable the supply chain to get on with it!
